My childhood passion.

As a young boy I grew up in the northern suburbs of Brisbane;

I would have been 5 years of age when my parents had an extension being built & I was absolutely in awe.  I would come home from school & watch the progress every afternoon; I would even give dad an update as to the progress when he arrived home every night from work.

I knew at the age of five I was going to be a builder.

At the age of 12 I started working for some local builders on weekends for a bit of pocket money, but I just loved the experience of being constructive & creative.

My Apprenticeship (the passion grows).

At 16, I stared my apprenticeship as a carpenter with the State Government renovating & restoring government buildings in Brisbane city.  I spent most weekends renovating Queenslanders in the bay side areas of Wynnum/Manly & inner city areas of Bardon & Paddington.

My Mentors for the next 7 years were the elderly craftsman carpenters/builders who taught me the trade secrets of renovating & restoring traditional Queensland homes.

Building the Dream

I moved to the Sunshine Coast with my family in the mid 1980,s & over the next 25 years, I have built over 200 new dwellings, including 100 retirement duplex apartments & 50 traditional Queensland homes on the sunshine coast & Brisbane northern suburbs.

Renovating the Dream

Apart from building various new homes in the last 25 years, I have renovated many homes for my clients.  Most clients wish not to relocate for sentimental reasons & therefore ask me to have there homes renovated to suit their growing families changing needs.

Many other clients have purchased older dwellings & I have carried out what I call Smart Renovations.

This is where renovations are carried out to suit the family needs while working to a budget

A wish list if you like is created with preferences of importance after an initial concept plan is put together between the clients & myself.

I have also designed & built numerous concrete swimming pools & entertainment areas combined to enhance indoor /outdoor living that has become the most important design aspect to Queensland living .

Restoring the Dream

This is the most rewarding work to undertake of all, for the builder & the owner.

When I undertake to renovate a traditional Queenslander, I feel privileged & obliged to keep a creation built by our ancestors.  Most of these buildings are now over 100 years old.

Not only are these traditional homes perfect for our Queensland living conditions with high ceilings, fan lights, breeze ways & French doors opening onto protected verandahs , it is the craftsmanship & detail that give these beautiful buildings their ageless character.

I am blessed to have been able to renovate many traditional Queensland homes in Wynnum/manly, Bardon, Paddington, Kedron, & several on the hinterland areas of the Sunshine Coast.
